Announcing the 5th annual Taxing Details IRS
mileage update!
Whether you cruise in a Dodge Aries or roll in a Benz,
this information is for you.
Beginning Jan. 1, 2007, the standard mileage rates for the use of a car (including vans, pickups or panel trucks)
will be:
- 48.5 cents per mile for business miles driven (up from 44.5
cents/mile in 2006)
- 20 cents per mile for medical or moving purposes; and
- 14 cents per mile driven in service to a charitable organization
The primary reasons for the higher rates were higher prices
for vehicles and fuel during the year ended in October.
Note: Dropping this type of information on an unsuspecting individual at your upcoming office party is
a great way to end awkward conversations.
